Your essential guide to all things Praia da Luz
Praia da Luz is a charming seaside town located in the Western Algarve, one hour west of Faro airport.
Sandwiched between Lagos and Burgau, it is blessed with a wonderful (blue flag) beach that shelves gently into the sea making it an excellent choice for families.
Praia da Luz is a great base to explore the delights of the region, but is equally adept as a self-contained holiday haven with everything on its doorstep.
This is our second visit to Praia da Luz and again we were thoroughly captivated by this wonderful resort. The scenery is beautiful, the beach is lovely and there is a multitude of first class eateries and restaurants to choose from. We hired a villa on the outskirts of town and were thrilled by the location. The people of the town are friendly and helpful and we will have no hesitation returning for a third visit as and when we find the time.

Such a beautiful place to visit, ideal for families, brilliant beach and stunning views. Amazing restaurants for the evening and lovely places for the more casual daytime dining. Didn't have a bad meal all holiday.

Have been coming to Luz for 15 years and never tire of it. The beach is great for children and adults alike, water sports hire etc. There are plenty of restaurants and cafe's which make Luz an all round great holiday destination. Can't wait to be back there.

Luz is a town endowed with a beautiful beach and surrounding multi-colored cliffs. This is most a swimming beach - never much surf - so is great for families with young children or unsure swimmers. Wonderful walking trails leave the town both towards Lagos and Sagres. The town has many restaurants of all levels of sophistication and cost.
We stopped off here on a trip along the coast and fell in love with the beach, so pretty. We only stopped for a beer but were taken by the feel of the place a would have returned for a day at the beach if we had time. Well worth a visit if you are staying near by.
A beautiful village, peaceful and tranquil. Amazing beach with lots of facilities and wonderful views.
